Join us for the ComNet19 Welcome Reception at The Moody Theatre on Wednesday, October 2nd from 6:00 - 8:00pm as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary!
Willie Nelson was the featured performer when Austin City Limits debuted on television 1974. Back then, The Rolling Stones were young. And hip hop didn’t exist. In the ensuing decades, ACL has become a rite of passage for performers ranging from Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar to Kacey Musgraves and Pearl Jam — and the longest-running music program in television history. Now in its 45th season on air, the PBS program has received the National Medal of the Arts, the Texas Medal of the Arts, and a Peabody, among many accolades.
ACL moved from its original studios on the campus of The University of Texas to downtown Austin a few years back. The Moody Theater, with its daring architecture and amazing acoustics has quickly become an Austin icon and one of the most important venues in popular music.
And for one night, thanks to our friends at KLRU and Austin City Limits, it will be home to The Communications Network as we celebrate 40 years of community, learning, and leadership with some Texas hospitality.
Sadly Willie won’t be there. But you will be able to kick back with local Austin drinks and light appetizers and enjoy the company of 950 of your friends and colleagues while seeing where the magic happens.
What to wear?
The dress code is business casual. Please remember to wear your ComNet19 badge. *Please pickup your badge at registration on the 4th floor of the JW Marriott before heading to The Moody Theater. If you are not able to, we will be able to check you in by name at the entrance of the Welcome Reception.*

How to get there?
We're encouraging everyone to join their Community Groups to walk to The Moody Theatre (you will hear from your group leader with a meet up spot and departure time). It's a terrific way to meet new folks, see old friends, and get into the spirit of ComNet19. It should take you about 6 minutes to stroll to The Moody Theatre from the JW Marriott Austin.
